Open Geospatial Data Integration in Game Engine for Urban Digital Twin Applications

Increasing interest has recently been shown towards the digital twins of cities. These urban utilize 3D city models together with other data sources, such as open data, which can be accessed, e.g., through application programming interfaces (APIs). A large amount geospatial is already available various portals and APIs, REST MQTT. Game engines, on hand, have seen highly potential platforms for twins, recent development increasing useability in game engines. This study explores possibilities engines by integrating visualizing API-based datasets a model set engine environment. Three integration approaches are demonstrated, performance these tested twins. Based results, modern offer great platform creating twin applications; however, some problems limitations must overcome before use becomes feasible larger scale.
